A Mysterious Murdering Letter It was a prank letter initially, but it turned into a cursed letter while it was passed around. It was a mysterious curse, as it caused a person’s death mysteriously and subsequently the others who were received the letter turned crazy. No one knew what happened and the person who placed the curse, unless one experiences it. No one even dare to investigate about this, as it will surely cost their lives. The letter was first received by a mischievous boy, who stayed in a town named ‘Quaranto’ back in 1960s. Back then, everything was not in a good shape. Life was hard, money was hard to earn and many had to suffer. However, this boy was lucky enough to be born into a noble family. His name was Krestolia. Since young, Krestolia was served and spoon-fed by the servants. None of them dared to mistreat him, as he was the apple in his parents’ eyes. Krestolia loves to play pranks on the servants and sometimes on his parents. Although they were angry when they were tricked, however, they would still forgive him because Krestolia was a spoilt brat. As years passed, Krestolia grew tired of playing pranks. He wanted to do something else, a thing that could frighten everyone when they opened it. He thought and thought, then suddenly, he thought up of an idea. Krestolia’s idea was to write up a chain letter and passes it around. And so, he went into his room and isolated himself for several hours. When Krestolia finally came out, he went into one of the servants’ room with a letter in his hand. He placed the letter on the servant’s bed and quickly escaped out of the room. This was what he wrote in the letter: Dear receiver, You have received a cursed letter. In two days’ time, you will be suffering a horrifying curse. To break this curse, you will have to pass this letter to someone else without being notice. If you’re noticed, you will have to bear the consequences together with the person who saw you. Lastly, it is up to your decision whether you want to believe it or not. However, I advise you to believe it because the curse will come true. Also, do not throw or burn this letter. Or else you will worsen the curse. Anonymous During that night, the servant read the letter and he knew it was Krestolia’s doings. Hence, he decided to put away the letter into his drawer and ignored it. Two days later, nothing had happened to the servant. After all, it was just a prank and Krestolia had expected this too. Feeling bored, Krestolia decided to come up with another idea. He decided to play with water. Since then, many servants got drenched wet whenever they go into a room or received a ‘water gift’ from him. Krestolia had a lot of fun playing water pranks on them that he totally forgot about the letter. However, one day, after playing pranks on his servants, Krestolia went back into his room to rest. When he walked towards his bed, he saw a letter. It was a familiar letter. The moment he opened the letter, he knew that it was his writing. However, the content inside had changed. It was written like this: Dear receiver, You have received a cursed letter. When the time is up, you will see something unbelievable. To break this curse, you will have to pass this letter to someone else. Lastly, it is up to your decision whether you want to believe it or not. If you choose not to believe, you are asking for it. No mercy will be shown by then. Anonymous “What a ridiculous letter is this? Did he think that I will give a care about it?” said Krestolia. Krestolia did not believe what he had received because he thought it was just a simple prank. Therefore, he tore up the letter into many pieces and threw them into a waste bin. However, when night came, Krestolia felt something weird about his room. He felt unease and uncomfortable all of the sudden. To ease his mood, Krestolia ordered a servant to stay by his side until he was completely asleep. Though the servant had obeyed Krestolia and stayed by his side, something still happened to him at that night. In the middle of the night, Krestolia woke up all of the sudden because he heard some noises made by a creaking door and thought someone had barged into his room. To ensure he was safe, he seated up and looked around to see if there was anybody in his room but there was nobody else but his servant who was asleep by his bed. He tried to wake his servant up, but it was useless because the servant was deeply asleep. Hence, he decided to go back into his sleep too. And so, Krestolia lied back down onto his bed and closed his eyes. When he was about to go into his dreamland, he felt someone lying beside him and was facing him too. He was too frightened to open his eyes, thus he just said, “Gorano, is that you? Reply me if you are awake.” No one replied him and thus, it made him felt even frighten. The person beside Krestolia kept moving closer to him that it almost touched his face. When both of them almost got into skin contact, Krestolia moved back a little instinctively. He summoned up all of his courage and opened his eyes. Immediately, he screamed aloud over what he had seen. That person was featureless except a white skin over its face and its body was burned black totally. “Ah!!!!! What the hell is this?! Gorano, Gorano, wake up! Wake up!” Krestolia screamed and tried to wake his servant up, but it was unsuccessful. Krestolia ran around his room while screaming for help and the monster kept chasing after him with fast speed, it did not gave him any chances to escape out of the room. After a long run, Krestolia stopped and took a chair in his hand. “What the hell do you want, you this monster?!” Krestolia shouted at that monster while he used the chair as his shield. The monster did not reply, but the room suddenly turned very dark that it made Krestolia barely sees anything in his room except the chair in his hands. Krestolia started to tremble, but still, he upheld his bravery and tried to defense himself against that monster. Suddenly, a voice echoed in the room, “Krestolia Laveno, you have chosen not to believe the curse. Therefore, you should be punished. Don’t forget I did give you warning, I wrote ‘No mercy will be shown by then.’ and you ignored it. Hence, I have sent my servant to send you to Hell.” “What are you talking about?! Didn’t that was just a prank letter?! What did you mean by sending me to hell? I have done nothing wrong!” Krestolia quickly replied back nervously to the voice. “No, that letter was a gift from me. You are counted lucky to have my attention, brat. You are a little like me, like to play pranks on others. Hence, I got interested in you recently and so I would like to show you my home which is the Hell as a welcome gift to join my ‘club’. I will also show you my servant’s abilities too, so do enjoy!” the voice replied Krestolia and faded away after its last word. While Krestolia was about to argue back, the monster had stood in front of him. It was too late for him to react, as the monster had smashed off the chair and took down on him. Krestolia was ripped apart from his lower abdomen and he looked extremely shocked before he died. After this weird incident, the family held a funeral for him and did not investigate on his death because they had received a warning letter that warned them not to look into his death or else they would be cursed like him. Feeling frightened, they took Krestolia’s case as an unnatural death and carried on with their life as usual. After several years later, in a town near ‘Quaranto’, a young hooligan received the same cursed letter and he chosen not to believe it too. However, he was not killed in the end. Instead, he saw the scene of Krestolia’s death and the monster whenever he sleeps. Thus, after a few nights, he went crazy. Since then, people who received it got the same fate as the hooligan does if they had chosen not to believe it. For those who pass it, they will be forgiven and none of misfortunes would fall upon them. Hence, in the end, the receiving of the letter depends on the person’s luck. As for Krestolia, after he had died, he was sent to the ‘the voice’ there and became his servant. He assists ‘the voice’ by passing the letter all around the town and flashes his horrible fate to those who deserved the consequences. He was known as the ‘God of Pranks’ in the end. – End of Story – Labels: a mysterious murdering letter, bluezrosen, chapter one, short story 0 Reviews♥ |
